- 4 lbs apples peeled, cored, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar packed
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp ground allspice
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: Cinnamon stick apple slice
- Suggested Pairings: Toast herbal tea
Combine apples, sugars, spices, salt, and lemon juice in a pot or slow cooker.
Cook on low for 6–8 hours (stovetop) or 8–10 hours (slow cooker) until soft.
Blend until smooth; add vanilla. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
Cook for 1–2 hours until thick.
Serve in a white ceramic jar with a cinnamon stick, toast, and tea.
