Banana Bread Recipe: Moist and Classic Comfort

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon optional
  • cup unsalted butter melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3-4 ripe bananas 1 1/2 cups mashed
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Optional: 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1 tbsp turbinado sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F; grease or line a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and optional cinnamon.
  • Mash bananas; mix with melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Stir in dry ingredients until just combined; fold in optional nuts or chips.
  • Pour into pan; sprinkle with optional turbinado sugar. Bake 55-65 minutes until a toothpick is clean.
  • Cool in pan 10 minutes, then on a rack. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for sweetness.
  • Don’t overmix batter for a tender loaf.
  • Store wrapped at room temperature or refrigerate.
  • Serve with butter or cream cheese.
