Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 12 oz beer
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • Optional: Butter olive oil with herbs
  • Suggested Pairings: Sparkling water soup

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F; grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar; taste and adjust.
  • Stir in beer until just combined.
  • Pour half the butter into the pan; add batter; top with remaining butter.
  • Bake 40–45 min until golden.
  • Serve on a white ceramic platter with butter.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature beer.
  • Store at room temp for 2 days or freeze for 3 months.
  • Try a cheesy or gluten-free variation.
  • Pair with chili.
