Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beer
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika optional
  • Optional: Chopped chives paprika sprinkle
  • Suggested Pairings: Craft beer pretzels

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in a saucepan; whisk in flour for 1–2 min.
  • Slowly add beer, then milk, whisking until thickened.
  • Stir in cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning.
  • Serve in a white ceramic bowl with chives.
