- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar sifted
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 –4 tbsp heavy cream
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
- Optional: Vanilla bean specks
- Suggested Pairings: Coffee vanilla cake
- Beat butter until creamy. 
- Add sugar 1 cup at a time on low. 
- Mix in vanilla and salt. 
- Add cream 1 tbsp at a time; beat until fluffy. 
- Whip on high for 1 minute; taste and adjust. 
- Use to frost or pipe. 
- Sift sugar for smoothness.
- Store in the fridge for 1 week or freeze for 3 months.
