unsalted butter
softened

powdered sugar
sifted

heavy cream or milk

vanilla extract

kosher salt
Optional: Sprinkles
edible flowers, food coloring

Instructions
Beat butter for 2-3 minutes until creamy.
Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time, beating until smooth.
Add cream, vanilla, and salt; beat for 2-3 minutes until fluffy.
Add food coloring if desired.
Spread or pipe on cooled desserts; garnish with sprinkles. Serve with cake and coffee.
Notes
Use room-temperature butter for smoothness.
Store in the fridge for 1 week or freeze for 3 months; re-whip before use.
Try a chocolate variation.
