Instructions
Brown beef in oil; drain fat.
Add onion, garlic, and carrot; cook for 4–5 minutes.
Stir in cabbage, tomatoes, and sauce.
Add broth, rice, and seasonings; simmer for 25–30 minutes.
Remove the bay leaf; taste and adjust.
Serve in a white ceramic bowl with sour cream.
Notes
Use lean beef.
Store in the fridge for 5 days or freeze for 3 months.
Try a vegetarian or slow cooker variation.
Pair with dinner rolls.
