dried navy beans

diced

carrots
diced

celery stalks
diced

cloves
garlic

bay leaf

tsp
thyme

tsp
black pepper

chicken broth

water
1
tbsp
apple cider vinegar
Optional: Parsley

Instructions
Rinse beans; soak overnight (optional).
Add beans, ham, vegetables, spices, broth, and water to the crockpot.
Cook on low 8-10 hours or high 5-6 hours.
Remove bay leaf; add vinegar, and salt to taste.
Serve in earthenware bowls with parsley, bread, and iced tea.
Notes
Soak beans for quicker cooking.
Store in fridge up to 5 days, freeze 3 months.
