Dinner Rolls Recipe: Soft and Comforting

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk warmed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted (for brushing)
  • Optional: Flaky sea salt chopped parsley
  • Suggested Pairings: Butter iced tea

Instructions
 

  • Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit 5–10 min until foamy.
  • Mix flour, salt, butter, egg, and yeast mixture; knead 5–10 min.
  • Taste and adjust dough seasoning.
  • Let dough rise 1–1.5 hours; shape into 12 balls, rise 30–45 min.
  • Bake at 375°F for 15–18 min; brush with butter.
  • Serve on a white ceramic platter with sea salt, parsley, butter, and tea.

Notes

  • Use warm milk for yeast activation.
  • Store at room temperature for 2 days or freeze for 2 months.
  • Try a vegan or herbed variation.
  • Pair with creamed corn.
