Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: Chili powder fresh cilantro
  • Suggested Pairings: Enchiladas margarita

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a saucepan, whisk in flour for 1–2 minutes.
  • Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano; cook for 30 seconds.
  • Whisk in broth, tomato sauce, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
  • Simmer for 10–12 minutes until thickened.
  • Serve in a white ceramic bowl with chili powder, cilantro, enchiladas, and margarita.

  • Store in the fridge for 5 days or freeze for 3 months.
