Fish:

cod fillets

flour

baking powder

salt

black pepper

cold beer
Vegetable oil
for frying
Chips:
4
russet potatoes

salt
Vegetable oil
for frying
Optional: Lemon wedges

Instructions
Soak cut potatoes in salted water for 30 minutes; drain, dry.
Fry potatoes at 325°F for 4-5 minutes; drain.
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and beer for batter.
Dredge fish in flour, dip in batter; fry at 375°F for 5-7 minutes.
Fry chips again at 375°F for 2-3 minutes; salt.
Serve on parchment with lemon, parsley, tartar sauce, and lager.
Notes
Use cold beer for crispy batter.
Store in the fridge for up to 2 days, and reheat in the oven.
Try a gluten-free variation.
Pair with mushy peas.
