buttermilk

vegetable oil

Coconut-Pecan Frosting
:

evaporated milk

cup
granulated sugar

large egg yolks

cup
unsalted butter

vanilla extract
1 ⅓

sweetened shredded coconut

chopped pecans
Optional: Chocolate ganache

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F; grease two 8-inch pans.
Whisk dry ingredients; mix wet ingredients; combine with boiling water. Divide into pans.
Bake 30–35 min; cool completely.
Cook milk, sugar, yolks, and butter 8–10 min; add vanilla, coconut, and pecans. Taste and adjust. Cool.
Frost cake layers; assemble on a white ceramic stand.
Garnish and serve with coffee and milk.
Notes
Cool cakes fully before frosting.
Store in fridge for 4 days or freeze for 2 months.
Try a vegan or nut-free variation.
