Homemade Applesauce Recipe: Smooth and Naturally Sweet

Ingredients
  

  • 6 medium apples peeled, cored, chopped
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar optional
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg optional
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • Optional: Cinnamon stick apple slice
  • Suggested Pairings: Hot tea yogurt

Instructions
 

  • Toss apples with lemon juice.
  • Cook apples, water, sugar, spices, and salt for 20–25 minutes until soft.
  • Mash or blend to desired consistency; taste and adjust.
  • Cool 5–10 min.
  • Serve in a white ceramic bowl with a cinnamon stick, apple slice, tea, and yogurt.

Notes

  • Use mixed apples for balance.
  • Store in fridge for 7 days or freeze for 3 months.
  • Try a sugar-free or spiced variation.
