Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups ketchup
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • ½ cup water
  • Optional: Parsley sprig
  • Suggested Pairings: Grilled chicken cornbread

Instructions
 

  • Combine ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, molasses, Worcestershire, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, pepper, salt, cayenne, and water in a saucepan. Whisk until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness, tanginess, or heat.
  • Simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring, until thickened.
  • Cool slightly; transfer to a white ceramic bowl or jar.
  • Serve with parsley, grilled meats, cornbread, or as a dip.

Notes

  • Adjust thickness with water or longer simmering.
  • Store in the fridge for 2 weeks or freeze for 3 months.
