Donuts:

Glaze:

powdered sugar

Instructions
Combine warm milk, 1 tbsp sugar, and yeast; let sit 5–10 min until foamy.
Mix flour, sugar, salt, butter, eggs, vanilla, and yeast mixture; knead 5–10 min.
Taste and adjust dough seasoning.
Let dough rise 1–1.5 hours; cut into 12 donuts, rise 30–45 min.
Fry at 350°F for 1–2 min per side; drain.
Dip in glaze; serve on a white ceramic platter with powdered sugar, coffee, and milk.
Notes
Maintain oil at 350°F for frying.
Store unglazed at room temperature for 2 days or freeze for 2 months.
Try a vegan or chocolate glaze variation.
Pair with fresh berries.
