Italian Meatballs Recipe: Savory and Tender

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ lb ground pork
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Optional: Extra parsley Parmesan
  • Suggested Pairings: Spaghetti red wine

Instructions
 

  • Mix beef, pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, milk, egg, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, pepper, and flakes. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  • Form 12–16 meatballs.
  • Fry in olive oil 8–10 min or bake at 375°F 15–20 min.
  • Simmer in marinara 10 min.
  • Serve on a white ceramic platter with parsley, spaghetti, and wine.

Notes

  • Avoid overmixing for tender meatballs.
  • Store in fridge for 4 days or freeze for 3 months.
  • Try a vegan or cheesy variation.
  • Pair with salad.
