Italian Seasoning Recipe: Herbaceous and Versatile

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp dried basil
  • 1 tbsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram optional
  • 1 tsp garlic powder optional
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • Optional: Fresh basil oregano sprig
  • Suggested Pairings: Use in pasta pizza, and marinades

Instructions
 

  • Combine oregano, basil, thyme, rosemary, parsley, marjoram, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  • Stir until evenly mixed.
  • Taste and adjust with more oregano or heat.
  • Store in a white ceramic jar.
  • Use 1–2 tsp in dishes; garnish jar with fresh herbs.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight jar for 6 months.
  • Crush rosemary for a better texture.
  • Try a spicy or Tuscan variation.
  • Pair with roasted vegetables.
