Korean Beef Recipe: Sweet and Savory

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 3 green onions
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Optional: Gochujang
  • Suggested Pairings: Rice kimchi

Instructions
 

  • Whisk soy, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  • Brown beef with the white parts of onions.
  • Pour sauce; simmer 3–4 min until glossy.
  • Stir in green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve over rice in a white ceramic bowl.

Notes

  • Simmer until sticky.
  • Store in fridge 4 days or freeze 2 months.
  • Try a spicy or low-carb variation.
  • Pair with barley tea
