Ingredients
  

  • Shrimp Tacos:
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or lettuce
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup sliced red onion
  • Creamy Taco Sauce:
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • Optional: Fresh cilantro lime wedges
  • Suggested Pairings: Margaritas guacamole

Instructions
 

  • Toss shrimp with oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper; taste and adjust.
  • Cook shrimp in a skillet 2–3 min per side.
  • Whisk sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, and hot sauce; taste and adjust.
  • Warm tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
  • Assemble tacos with cabbage, shrimp, tomatoes, onion, and sauce.
  • Serve on a white ceramic platter with cilantro, margaritas, and guacamole.

Notes

  • Pat shrimp dry for a good sear.
  • Store shrimp and sauce in the fridge for 2 days; do not freeze tacos.
  • Try a gluten-free or spicy variation.
  • Pair with Mexican rice.
