Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp chili garlic sauce optional
  • Optional: Sesame seeds green onions
  • Suggested Pairings: Jasmine rice noodles

Instructions
 

  • Whisk soy sauce, water, sesame oil, rice vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, garlic, and chili sauce until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust with sugar, soy sauce, or vinegar.
  • Use immediately or store in the fridge.
  • For stir-fry: Add 1/4–1/2 cup sauce to cooked protein and vegetables; stir 1–2 min until thickened.
  • Serve in a white ceramic bowl with sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Use low-sodium soy sauce for balance.
  • Store in fridge for 1 week or freeze for 3 months.
  • Try a gluten-free or spicy variation.
  • Use as a dipping sauce.
