Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened (frosting)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 –3 tbsp milk
  • Optional: Food coloring sprinkles
  • Suggested Pairings: Milk fresh fruit

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F; grease a 9x13-inch pan.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; taste and adjust.
  • Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla; mix in dry ingredients.
  • Spread batter in pan; bake 20–25 min; cool.
  • Beat butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk for frosting; taste and adjust; spread over bars.
  • Add sprinkles; serve on a white ceramic platter.

Notes

  • Cool bars before frosting.
  • Store at room temperature for 3 days or freeze for 2 months.
  • Try a gluten-free or funfetti variation.
  • Pair with ice cream.
