Taco Dip Recipe: Creamy and Spicy

Classic Taco Dip with creamy, spicy flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet 1 oz taco seasoning
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • Optional: Fresh cilantro diced tomatoes
  • Suggested Pairings: Mexican beer tortilla chips

Instructions
 

  • Cook beef; add taco seasoning and water; simmer for 3–4 minutes; taste and adjust.
  • Mix cream cheese and sour cream; spread in a white ceramic dish.
  • Layer beef, salsa, 1 cup cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, olives, green onions, and 1/2 cup cheese.
  • Chill 30 min or bake at 350°F for 10–15 min (optional).
  • Garnish with cilantro; serve in a white ceramic dish with chips and beer.

Notes

  • Drain the beef for a less greasy dip.
  • Store in fridge for 3 days; do not freeze.
  • Try a vegetarian or spicy variation.
  • Pair with guacamole.
