Ingredients
  

  • cups flour
  • 1 cup cold butter
  • 6 –7 apples
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • Optional: Ice cream
  • Suggested Pairings: Coffee cider

Instructions
 

  • Cut butter into flour; add ice water.
  • Chill dough 1 hr.
  • Toss apples with sugars, spices.
  • Roll the bottom crust; fill.
  • Weave lattice top.
  • Brush with egg wash; sugar.
  • Bake 425°F 15 min, then 375°F 45–55 min.
  • Cool 4 hrs.
  • Serve on a white ceramic stand.

  • Store 2 days at room temperature or freeze 2 months.
