Tzatziki Sauce Recipe: Creamy and Tangy

Classic Greek Tzatziki Sauce with creamy, tangy flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup cucumber grated and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill chopped (or 1 tsp dried)
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint chopped (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: Fresh dill mint, olive oil
  • Suggested Pairings: Pita bread white wine

Instructions
 

  • Grate cucumber, drain excess liquid using cheesecloth.
  • Mix yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill, mint, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
  • Chill for 30+ minutes.
  • Serve in a white ceramic bowl with dill, pita, vegetables, and wine.

Notes

  • Drain the cucumber well to avoid watery sauce.
  • Store in the fridge for 5 days; do not freeze.
  • Try vegan or spicy variations.
  • Pair with grilled meats.
