Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe: Smooth and Tangy

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 1-2 tbsp milk or cream optional
  • Optional: Sprinkles berries, nuts
  • Suggested Pairings: Carrot cake coffee

Instructions
 

  • Beat cream cheese and butter for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  • Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time, beating until blended.
  • Add vanilla, salt, and milk; beat for 1-2 minutes until fluffy.
  • Add food coloring if desired.
  • Spread or pipe on cooled desserts; garnish with berries. Serve with cake and coffee.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature ingredients for smoothness.
  • Store in the fridge for 1 week or freeze for 3 months; re-whip before use.
  • Try a lemon variation.
