Ingredients
  

  • Cupcakes:
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • Frosting:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 –3 tbsp heavy cream
  • Optional: Sprinkles extra frosting
  • Suggested Pairings: Tea fresh berries

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F; line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, vanilla, alternate dry ingredients, and milk.
  • Fill liners 2/3 full; bake 18–20 min. Cool completely.
  • Beat butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream for frosting; taste and adjust.
  • Pipe frosting; garnish with sprinkles. Serve on a white ceramic platter.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature ingredients for the best texture.
  • Store unfrosted in the fridge for 5 days or freeze for 2 months.
  • Try a vegan or lemon variation.
  • Pair with coffee.
